Restaurant.

Dining rooms, cafés and takeaway. 6 of these 7 are running in a tenant’s ERP today — each one below says plainly which.

Orders & POS

The till — open checks, courses, payment, and everything that goes wrong mid-service.

Live
What it does
  • Open a check on a table, or as takeout or delivery
  • Course a check and fire each course when the room is ready
  • Hold, send, re-fire; move a line to a different course
  • Split, transfer a table, reassign the server mid-shift
  • Comp or void with a manager PIN when the cashier lacks the right
  • Refunds and returns, per line, with a reason
  • Tip pooling and payroll export at the end of the shift

Every check is a stream of events rather than a row that gets overwritten, so the history of an argued bill is still there afterwards.

Kitchen Display

The screen on the line — tickets the second they are sent, grouped the way the kitchen works.

Live
What it does
  • Tickets appear as they are sent, by station and by course
  • Allergy flags travel with the dish, impossible to miss
  • Bump a ticket when it is away; the floor sees it is ready
  • A prep sheet for the start of the day
  • Keeps running on the local network when the internet does not

Its own app on its own screen, not a browser tab someone will close. Updates are pushed, so nothing is waiting on a refresh.

Floor plans

The room as it actually is — tables, sections, and who has which.

Live
What it does
  • Draw the room: tables, sections, and the decorations that make it recognisable
  • Table status at a glance — free, seated, ordered, paid
  • Assign sections to servers for the shift
  • Tap a table to open its check
  • More than one floor plan, for the patio or the private room

The plan is the interface, not a report about the interface — a host seats a table by touching it.

Recipes

What each dish is made of — which is how stock counts itself.

Live
What it does
  • Ingredients and quantities per dish, and per variant
  • Firing a dish deducts its exact ingredients from stock
  • Plate cost, and the margin that follows from it
  • Recipes per variant, so a large costs what a large costs

Consumption happens once, on the fire, and never twice — so a re-fired ticket does not double-count the duck.

Reservations

The book — who is coming, when, and which table they are sitting at.

Soon
What it does
  • Take a booking with party size, time and a table
  • A covers view of the service before it starts
  • Notes that follow the guest — allergy, anniversary, the regular who hates the door
  • No-shows recorded against the guest, not forgotten
  • The booking becomes the check when they sit down

A reservation and a table are the same object the floor plan already knows about, so seating a party is not re-entering it. The engine is built and the dining-room screen is what is still to come.

Promotions

Discounts, coupons and happy hour, with rules instead of trust.

Live
What it does
  • Percentage and fixed discounts, coupons, and time-boxed rules
  • Happy hour that starts and stops on its own
  • Limits — per customer, per check, per day
  • Every discount applied shows up in the reports as a discount

Rules live in configuration, not in code, so a promotion is something you set up rather than something you request.
